Kathrin Schmitz enjoys working with organizations to build transparent decision-making processes and governance structures that lead to effective collaboration and farsighted solutions. Her work fosters cultures of trust, appreciation, and shared responsibility.
Before her freelance career, Kathrin was employed for ten years in a mid-sized consulting firm, including six years leading teams from diverse cultural backgrounds. Drawing on her multi-year consulting experience in the Asian healthcare sector and her work with NGOs, she brings a pragmatic, implementation-oriented approach.
As a certified sociocracy consultant and trainer, Kathrin collaborates with a wide range of organizations, including companies, healthcare and social service organizations, associations, NGOs, and networks. This breadth of experience has given her a deep understanding of diverse organizational cultures.
Kathrin designs and delivers training programs for sociocracy facilitators and trainers with internationally recognized certification. She serves on the boards of Sociocracy For All (SoFA), the Sociocracy Center Germany, and the Network Self-Organization.
Because clear and constructive communication is essential for successful cooperation, Kathrin has worked intensively with Nonviolent Communication and has been a recognized trainer with the German association since 2021. Through training, coaching, and support in conflict prevention and resolution, she strengthens emotional intelligence in organizations and beyond.

Es ist ihr Ziel, Kulturen des Vertrauens, der Wertschätzung und gemeinsamen Verantwortung zu stärken.
Vor ihrer freiberuflichen Tätigkeit war Kathrin zehn Jahre in einem mittelständischen Beratungsunternehmen angestellt, sechs Jahre leitete sie Teams aus unterschiedlichen kulturellen Kontexten. Darüber hinaus prägen die langjährigen Beratungserfahrungen im asiatischen Gesundheitssektor sowie ihrer Arbeit mit Nichtregierungsorganisationen ihren pragmatischen, umsetzungsorientierten Ansatz.
Als zertifizierte Beraterin und Trainerin für Soziokratie arbeitet Kathrin mit Organisationen aus unterschiedlichen Kontexten, darunter Unternehmen, Einrichtungen des Gesundheits- und Sozialwesens, Vereine, NGOs und Netzwerke. Diese Vielfalt hat ihr Verständnis für unterschiedliche Organisationskulturen geschärft.
Kathrin konzipiert und leitet Ausbildungsprogramme für Soziokratie-Moderatorinnen und -Trainerinnen mit international anerkannter Zertifizierung. Darüber hinaus engagiert sie sich im Vorstand von Sociocracy For All (SoFA), dem Soziokratie Zentrum Deutschland sowie dem Netzwerk Selbstorganisation (Basel).
Klare und konstruktive Kommunikation ist eine zentrale Voraussetzung für erfolgreiche Zusammenarbeit. Deshalb arbeitet Kathrin seit vielen Jahren intensiv mit Gewaltfreier Kommunikation – seit 2021 ist sie anerkannte Trainerin beim deutschen Fachverband. Durch Trainings, Coaching sowie Begleitung in der Konfliktprävention und -lösung stärkt sie emotionale Intelligenz in Organisationen und darüber hinaus.
